Behind the Scenes

Behind the Scenes (2/2015):

7 months and counting!!! It’s hard to believe someday that I’ve been here that long, and then others it feels like it’s been forever. For those of you keeping up with my blogs, you have probably noticed that I have been a little lack in creating them, (3) in total to be exact.

Being totally honest I’ve struggled with the whole concept of sharing them, just because you wonder who really wants to read about your life. Then I realized that struggle is exactly a part of it, a spiritual battle and it all starts in my mind. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). As for all of us, our mind is always the first place we get hit, and sometimes it can be one of the hardest to overcome.

Just remember those Negative thoughts are not from God (Philippians 4:8-9, 1 Peter 5:8), the father of lies wants to make you question your thoughts and actions. These blogs may represent my life, but they are also documents of the great things God is doing. I give him all the credit because there is no way I would be where I am today without his grace and guidance.

My goal since I moved to Nashville, of course, has been to pursue music, but there is so much more to it than that. My focus has been to connect with the right people, develop my skills, and craft my talent. But most of all it’s being intentional and developing deep and meaningful relationships. Directing me to be his hands and feet, because in the end even if I make a name for myself musically it’s going to be those relationships that really matter.

Bringing me to the wonderful opportunity that just happened!!! For most of us jumping into a car with a perfect stranger would be totally unthought-of, and believe me, I am one of the most cautious people you will ever meet. However this past weekend for the most part that exactly what happened!! A few weeks back I was formally introduced to and extremely talented artist, we didn’t get to talk long but I knew there was something different with this connection. It’s funny how God always seems to set you up when you are not expecting anything.

Anyways a week or so passes and I notice that this artist was having one of my boys open for her, which caught me completely off guard (I haven’t seen him in over three years). Long story short I sent her a message to see if she would mind if I tagged along for the weekend, just to be behind the scenes. The little back story she’s been in the Christian music industry for about 10 years now, so what better way to learn what you feel God is leading you to do than to be first hand with someone already doing it.

I went to learn (which I totally did), and to just be used in any way I could to help her. What I didn’t expect was the blessing that would come from the trip. Moving to a new place where you don’t really know anyone is challenging in itself, so you can imagine building good friendships right away is very far and few. After several hours in a car with someone, it can go one of two ways, I’m just so thankful this was a God set up and exactly what I needed. He is placing Godly friendships as well as ministry and music opportunities in my path that would never happen without him. And this story is just one of several God moments, so PLEASE be encourage that in your dreams (regardless of size) God has you if you will allow him to be in control. He will provide EVERY single need you have, you do NOT have to fear the unknown, TRUST me when I say that my life is living proof!!! (Philippians 4:6, Isaiah 41:10). I can’t wait to share with you guys all the things that are coming, stay tuned!!!!
